Bull sharks are common in fresh water and actually have there young in the lower reaches of rivers . The have an adaptation that let's them move quite freely between fresh and salt. They are however warm water sharks and are unlightly to make the journey north to the mouth of the ST lawrance.

Being a monster fan I wish it was a bull shark too but I vote catfish as well. Extremely fat. Built like a cat. Fun story tho.

Fishing in the amazon we would catch Bull Sharks consistently when fishing for Pintado or Tucanare( Peacock Bass) although many were 10-20 lbs once in awhile you would see some monsters lurking in the water.... they are able to survive in freshwater and studies showing they are breeding also

Definitely a shark. No question.
Probably a man-eater.

Greenland Sharks migrate up the St. Lawrence River. There have been several caught by fisherman. It's not too far fetched of an idea to think that they could make it through the lock systems along the power damn and swim right into Lake Ontario.
