What is the best spinning reel for around $100. Using 2/10 braid? Thanks.

In that price range I'd go with a Shimano Sahara :)

I just have to comment on this
was out today at Pigeon and I told him that my reels were the best money could buy 45 years ago.
I have a Dam Quick and 2 Mitchell 300's and they work perfect still today
I clean them every second year put on new line and oil an grease them up
never failed me yet.... Not sure if their made now but some old fishermen will know exactally what Im talking about....

I've got an old Mitchell 300 spinning reel that I've used for 35 years. Still works great.

Spend a few bucks more and go with the Shimano Symetre. It's wayyyy worth it. Best bang for the buck reel you can buy in my opinion. Hands down. :D

I'm a Pfleuger fan now as well, they have surpassed Shimano in what you get for your buck.

You got that right!! I went to buy the stradic ci 4 plus it looked like a kids reel and felt cheap. I ended up getting the pflueger patriarch instead felt better smoother and man is it nice!! By far the best bang for your buck.

Without a doubt, Quantum Catalyst.

I'll second this. They are discontinued and can be found on sale. I have 2 and like then better than the more expensive quantum smoke.

Wow. You are the first person I have ever heard say that about the new CI4+. They are incredible reels.

I am running a pflueger now and love it . With that new hybrid line it is fantastic I have a shimano and Quantum and abu worn out in the rack . My old boy is still running his 300 from the 70s and it works fine . I feels shame because I took apart my 1986 300 reel that I can't get it back together. if anyone knows someone in Calgary that still services Mitchel reels PLEASE pm me as I would love to have it fixed .

My brother in fla. fishes the bass pro circuit and when I fish with him he makes fun of me cause I use the quik flip casting reel. I just like them as I am more into function than fashion. I do find that in trying to find a good quality ball bearing quik flip reel is, its hard to find a good quality one that will actually hold up for any length of time. If I fish with 4 or 5 rigs and if there not rigged the same, it kinda throws my synchronicity off by having a miss matched reel especially if your tournament fishing for money. :)
