It is a beautiful hike and good fishing. We always had more luck with flyfishing but spinning gear works good. Just the usual 5diamonds ext seemed to work good for us. Good luck

we always had better luck with flies as well. The next best thing using a fly with a bobber then a small five of diamonds as mentioned. I have not fished there for a while, but it is a great trip.

What fish are in the lake?

Cutthroat.

Very interesting hike, good fishing. Wish I had taken my own boat to the trailhead; then I wouldn't have been tied to the tour boat schedule for drop-off and pick-up. The drawback when doing that is by the time you get up there, you only have a short time to fish before having to head back!

Don't worry about the trip back,I think the grizzlies are going to kill you!
