This is a picture taken not too long ago in the campbell river in bc. A mix of low water levels and record high pink salmon return has the river packed to the gills (pun intended) with fish! Now i just need to find a way to call in sick for a few weeks.

Amazing. Almost looks biblical.

The animals and birds are going to be fat this winter. And soon it will be the river of stink.

I saw this same scene on Saturday at the Quinsom Hatchery in Campbell River. It looks like that is where this picture was taken.

You could be correct theres an argument going on facebook about wether its at the hatchery or the cr dam. Either way they are in the campbell river system.

I was fishing with my grandson on the Campbell last week, there are a fair number of fish present, snagging is a problem, BC hydro is a bigger problem with their management of water levels. Snow pack is very low on the mountains and power generation obviously takes priority over salmon habitat.

Yea when conditions get that bad i switch to very small weighted flys. Its not %100 effective but it cuts way back on the number of snags.

That looks like it would be worth the drive to go see!

Side note, to Big Bull. I googled big bull adventures and can't seem to find any info. Are you a guide service around Jasper?

No, but at one time it was a dream to make hunting videos. Then I realized that I wanted to hunt more than I wanted to film! It's basically a name for our hunting group, also known as the Walking Gut Piles!

If you look at the shallows in upper portion of my picture, you can see the exact same rocks that are in the picture that you posted. Therefore, 100% taken at the Quinsom River Hatchery!
