Looking for some advice on where to take my 2 daughters for a little fishing near Edmonton. We haven't done any fishing here, not into keeping fish either. Just looking for someplace easy so they could send their grampie a picture of them holding a fish they caught with the gpoles he sent them. And also what do use for bait and such. Thanks.

Depends on what you want to target pm the river is an excellent resource to catch fish, you could try Cardiff, hermitage ponds or drive west to east pit, star lake there are all sorts. You can fish anywhere from jigs to spoon to fishing with bait.

Good luck

Cardiff reservoir just a couple miles north of edmonton. Stocked with trout.

The same suggestions for any stocked trout pond you might go to:

If the fish are rising abit, a float with a worm 3-4 ft. below. Not too far from shore.

If the fish are rising alot, put a fly 5 or 6 ft. behind a float and a slow retrieve.

If the fish aren't rising, a pikeral rig with worms or powerbait on the bottom.

Small spinners or spoons might work ok too.

Good luck.
