Was thinking of putting a TV in the cabin with the old rabbit ear style antenna.
Being about half hr drive out of Valleyview, can I expect to get CBC at least ?
Would just like to maybe get the news or Sat hockey game in the evenings.
Anyone out in the country still use antenna TV ?

Drive around and see what the neighbors are using.

If you put something high enough in sky you should be able to get GP that has CBC and CTV. Dawson Creek with CBC, and Peace River with CBC.

OK Peace guys how am I doing?

What happened a couple of years ago with antennas? Do you now need some kind of digital receiver too?

Try plugging your address or co-ordinates into this site and see what it comes up with. Should give you a rough idea of what you can get.
TV Fool (http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29)

You'll either need a newer TV or a digital converter box to get the new digital signals. The plus side is that the quality is HD and better than you get with cable or satellite since it isn't compressed as much.

Think you may need a tower with antennea?

I have a 30-40 foot one if your considering it. One hour east of Red Deer.

New they are around $800, and this one includes an antennae. I'd take a 1/3 of that.

My 8 Track still works.

Just getting harder to find tapes.

No interference. I made this doughnut thing wrapped in wire .

Satellite dish is the way to go. Sign on with Bell...

1. Install a dish at the cabin and take your receiver out when you go.
2. Activate a 2nd receiver and take it to the cabin
3. Find a friend /relative and activate a receiver on his account, use as in 1 above.
