Anyone use these yet? I bought a box for my gf to use in my .243 this year.. and WOW Im quite impressed with the results. She took a Whitetail buck and a mulie doe and the damage is unreal for a 95grain bullet, i thought my reloaded 85grain triple shocks did some good damnage but dang i love these xp3s out of my .243 anyways. Here are pics of the entry and exit holes on her mule doe shot at 155yards. The Whitetail buck was shot at 60yards and same results.

That is impressive for 243. I imagine there was a decent blood trail? (if they didn't drop on the spot that is).

I ask because my dad used his 243 on a lil deer last week. He got both lungs but there was very little blood. I'm fairly certain he was shooting a 100grain bullet.

The mulie doe went about 10yards and the buck went about 60 with an awsome awsome blood trail. I suppose i should post pics of the deer haha

Do you remember what you paid for the XP3 s, I found some at sportsmans den in Red Reer for my .270 WSM but they were like $82.00/box, couldn't really justify paying that much but maybe if there that good a guy should reconsider, i know these federal fushions i've been using are terrible.

they are expensive. the .243 xp3s cost 38bucks at WSS, but doing damnage like that and giving my girlfriend one shot kills, i'll pay to keep using them out of the .243

im using them this season in 150 gr. through my .270 win

havent recovered one yet...fired a total of 3 cartridges so far since the season opened and i have 3 deer in the freezer

very highly recommend these for a factory round...very consistant at the range and energy released inside the animal is devastating

none of the deer took more than 2 steps before going down....all were in the front shoulder...im more than impressed with these bullets

even my 200 lb wt buck dropped in his tracks and i ranged him at 240 yds!!

I killed a bull moose at 70 yards with one Winchester 180 grain XP3 300WSM bullet this year - broke 2 ribs mid-frame going in on the right side and blew up the left lung. He stumbled 30+ yards before piling up. Just as accurate as the old Fail Safe's with more impressive hitting power. They are the only hunting bullet I use in my short mags now.
