We're headed up this weekend too for probably our only Cold Lake trip of the season. Flying half blind but it should be a good time

We were there last week and fishing was on!
Weather was hot.
We fished in bottom btwn 75-120'

Beware the shorelines with plenty of snails.

My daughter is still wearing the pock marks of swimmers itch.
I've never seen anything like it on a person,
Makes the measles look tame.

The lake is closed for the season. I will be on the lake "not" fishing:thinking-006:just boating! All anglers should go to Marie lake this wk-end

Lakers are closed from Sept. 15 to Nov. 15. All other species are still open during that period.

True. Two boats in cold lake is getting crowded. I hate crowds.

Made it on the lake saturday morning, water was rough till 2:00, then it got nice.
Lakers were nice and fat , a lot of small lakers . Laker # 18 was was our only legal laker at 80cm . Caught 24 in total ,would of caught more but lost a down rigger release when the cable broke. Boat that came into our morning honey hole had no spare either to borrow, as they lost theres also (Geezle).
Maybe one more trip this year before freeze up.

Never go laker fishing with out a bag of elastics, a snap swivel and elastic make a quick release.

Sounds like good time anyway congrats

All fishermen think alike.....thats what we did a few hours later, placed a snap swivel to the ball then tied the line into it about 20 feet back from the hook . Later we found out we did not have to close the snap swivel, just gave the rod a good pull when the fish was on.
