I may need major work done on a 4.3 Mercruiser and these guys were recommended by a friend. Any reports?

Maybe ( hopefully ) the place is under new ownership, but I had purchased from them a 2001 CBR929rr to replace the one that I had written off... When I drove up to see it I had a lot of questions about it as in had it been dumped before ( unexplained sheered off bolts), missing decals ( they said they came off with a power washer when they were cleaning it) and a brand new headlight that they said was the original ( it was 5 years old not even a stone mark on it) The bike checked out mechanically fine by my mechanic so I still bought it... 2 years later I sold it to a kid.... 3 weeks later the cops took the bike from him as it was a stolen bike the motor from Montana and the frame from Oregon. I have to say when I look back at all the red flags the day I bought it...really makes me wonder... .just my 2 cents..... For what its worth:sign0161:
