First year with 243. Was recommended to me to buy 95 gr federal fusions. Put a shot into my buddies deer as finish shot and shot my own deer yesterday. Both had no exit but the entrance wound had phenomenal damage.Almost like the bullet blew up on impact.Im no expert on bullets so i ask is this how they should be preforming? Im used to 3006 with little hole in big hole out. thanks guys

You can get bullets for the 3006 that will give you big hole in/no hole out as well. I would be shooting a different bullet if I were you.

I don't have a 243 so I can't comment on that caliber specifically but I've shot 7 animals so far with barnes TSX and each time the performance was phenomenal. I shot a white tail buck this year where the bullet went in his chest from the front and ran the full length of his body stopping just under hte hide before exiting. Weighed in at 100% and it worked exactly as described. Wound channel is huge with great penetration. Barnes makes a 80gr tipped TSX that would probably work well for you.
