Been asked a few times but never get a clear yes. All I know is that a large group went out last spring before thaw and didn't catch anything.

Yes, a group of us forum members from Edmonton took a group of kids out for a charity event late last winter ...... lake was dead.

With 40 lines in the water ...... and a few cameras ...... not a sniff.

A old guy drove by in the afternoon and told me he thought they turned the aerators off on purpose to kill off the lake and get rid of the perch ....... other guys said they caught rainbows in the few weeks before that ..... so who knows.

Trophy Pike Hunter and I ventured off and drilled a few holes around the lake and there was definitely the "yellow stink" of winterkill when we drilled on the far end ...... so there is no doubt there was an attempt to kill it off and start over.

I'm guessing it was at least a partial winterkill last year.
