Booked the trip last night for Jan. 16th-23rd, then ordered a Surf travel rod.
Anyone else going there during that time?

I won't be there but I've been there, it's a fantastic resort, it's huge!

Drove by the resort last week. Hope you have fun surf fishing and if you get bored of that further south El Cid marina (i was next door at Now Jade) has a great manmade bay that has great shore fishing.

One thing I was told is that the whole area is a national park, but trying to get info on fishing regs was impossible. No one bothered any of us fishing.

One more important tip...... bring along a bottle of aloe vera gel. No matter how prepped or carefull you are good chance you'll get some sunburn.
