Were any other members out there yet this hard water season? I was out there sat morn and there were 5 other vehicles when I showed up. After the short wet hike to my spot about 75 yrd from shore up drilled a hole and set up in about 15' of water only to have a light biter steal my bait repeatedly until I managed to hook him and bring him to the bottom of the hole where he managed to get off my hook, lol. Anyway after about 2 hours of feeding this fish and sitting on a pail in 6" of flood water I decided to go give salters a try where I managed to land four bows to end my nice day out. Anyone else out at devils lake with any success stories. P.s I think the fish stealing my bait was a burbot or walleye. Wasn't a pike. Ah well next time maybe[emoji6] http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/holymolymacaroly/IMG_20141206_111251066_zpsnuehmm0p.jpg (http://s799.photobucket.com/user/holymolymacaroly/media/IMG_20141206_111251066_zpsnuehmm0p.jpg.html)

a few years back it had decent perch, the last 3 years ive only caught the odd walleye. the same story wherever there is a zero walleye limit, they overrun the lake and eat everything. **** poor management. very sad.

Your "little biters" were probably spot-tail minnows. I've seen dozens of them around my hook in years past.

No it was decent bites, just kept missing or waiting too long. I had it on whatever is was had to be about two or maybe three pounds at most but was bigger than a spottail shiner. I've seen and caught those at wabamun quite a bit. Either way I fed em good anyway. I was using 2.5" silver/red spoon with minnow.

My bad!

Sorry. Those little shiners are a real pain in my side. They're all over my camera whenever I'm out there, which isn't very often anymore. Lake is just too scary for me with all those springs

Yeah water was moving lots in the hole every time a sled would drive around. Those spot tail shiners are all over on my camera too every time I'm at specific places on a lake. I notice the most numbers and times at wabamun for some reason. Every now and then you might be able to hook on if your using a tiny marmooska or somthing. Your right though they just keep pecking away at the bait making your tip of your rod move non stop sometimes. Lil bugger's! I always hope that with all of them around my bait will bring a bigger fish lol
