Fishing in the three hills area

I want to take my father in law out over the holidays. I'm not familiar with any southern lakes. I was thinking eagle lake, it's about a 1 1/2hr drive. Any suggestions.

Severn is a lot closer if you want to try for trout.

The lakes out by sundre/caroline offer a mixed bag just at the edge of your drive time. Pine is also a option abt an hr away.
