Well even though it was gross out on Wed. we managed to make it a good day. Threw the frisbee around for the hounds and got some neat action pics, and then found some holed up geese and ducks and snapped somemore nice pics. Enjoy!!

Nice pics. Have you been able to get any good Pintail pics? I've seen quite a few around and boy are they an awesome looking duck this time of year.

Lol....huge is an understatement bc he's only 8 1/2mths old!! Still lot's of growing to do....Pocket is almost 18mths and still filling out a bit...Chessies normally take till they're 2yrs to fully mature. At this point I don't really have any idea how big he'll get....I'm guessing 95lbs tho. Bigger than the breed standard for sure! I think Dozer was an appropriate name...lol

Duk Dog..I haven't seen any pintails....man I'd love to get a picture of some tho...I can't wait till Frank Lake opens up! I'm buying a bigger zoom lens this week....ohhh it'll be fun!!

Seen lots pintails and white geese at mcgregor yesterday but no camera with me. Lake still mostly covered in ice but open along shore and where canal goes in.

Head east out 22X towards Langdon. If you turn left and head north towards Langdon there are some sloughs about 200 yards north of 22X and yesterday there were a pile of pintails. There are also a few more sloughs just before you get to Langdon that had a pile of ducks in them. The first sloughs just off 22X would be the perfect setup as there are cat-tails and some bushes/trees nearby.

Great pics CBR. I have a honey hole that is FULL of Canadians Mallards, these ducks with a rust coloured head and Pintails not 50 yards from shore. They are a little spooky but a canal you can sneak up on them and snap pictures.

If your ever down my way give me a call I will show you the spot.

Nice shots by both, CBR that camera shoots great in the snow. Always fun running the dogs, they couldn't care how much snow or how cold it is they're always primed.
RyanGSP I've been trying to get up to the ducks on the Oldman but thier pretty spooky.

I have a spot for that too but its up high and you need a camera with one hell of a zoom.

Very nice pics. If i can get my new camera next week i want to get some while the feathers are so nice. Huge flocks of snows around last week, more pintails than i've ever seen before as well. Gotta love this time of year in the duck factory.

Has everyone been seeing lots of pheasants as well? I think survival was way above average this year, should be lots of birds come fall again. Nice pics everyone.
