I was up by island lake today and there was a guy out there with his truck wondering what's in there for fish and how the fishing is?

so did you tell him?

I'm pretty sure it's pike, perch and maybe some walleye.

I used to fish that lake quite a bit 15yrs ago, never did land a bass but I did see another guy catch one there. It was pretty big too. Not sure if they are still in there but they were in the late 90's.

My family used to camp/fish there when I was a kid. The water levels were so low through the late 90s and early 2000s that we haven't been back. I have been curious to try it out again though. Does anyone know if there are any fish left in the lake (bass excluded).

There was bass in the late 80's and early 90's. Perfect lake at that time to try to plant and catch a few. I did see a few caught during the ice fishing season. I doubt there is any left. Lake levels have dropped and they should have continued stocking during that time. AB lakes need more fish stocking for the ones that can sustain them.

I think island lake is to low right now. Most lakes in that area have taken a big hit on levels.

Good luck and tight lines.
