Always take a sled or quad to narrows. trail is thru muskeg and that open field always drifts the first part of trail badly. Done well 3/4 across to northeast in 16 to 30 feet water last year.

The muskeg is slushy?

At this time of the year?

Are you going in through the Marten River old Grouard Road?

Trail is north of Kinuso and is kinda rough when muskeg freezes. main concern is trail starts along a windbreak of bush across open field and with any amount of snow gets drifted in bad. should be no trouble now but has been in past years. Ice levels also vary because of current thru narrows and always a big ice heave to cross a third of way. Stay Safe always is a couple trucks go thru on Slave each year gas pockets between Spruce Point and Faust / Grouard

usually go on north of kinuso
but last year we were going on just west of faust with trucks
but last 2 times , took sleds to narrows

and your right , big snow drifts north of kinuso , and usually big heaves all over , but dammmmm the fishin's good !
