Was out yesterday for 4 hours moved twice and iced one pike. Tried various depths saw a few on camera but not at all interested. Wondering if any of the others out yesterday were A/O members and if so how they made out.
Good luck all

Was at Battle today, ended up catching 9 pike and 2 walleye. My dad caught 5 walleye and 3 pike. Biggest walleye was 5 lb 4 oz and 26", longest pike was 28". Lost quite a few others. Saw several whites on cam today but none interested in what I had to offer.

Yep. Was there yesterday.
Probably the furthest truck to the west.
Bite was on at 10. Lasted a few hours.

Was that your Ford with the smashed out window replaced with cardboard sitting in the parking lot? Or the truck with the trailer backed into one of the camping stalls?
We landed about 12 Pike and lost many more.
Nothing big.
All on our tip ups.
No cameras on this trip.

We arrived about 8:30 and fished till about 2:30

I was out on Battle on Monday too and got a 5lbs+ walleye and a bunch of pike. The chew was definitely on in the am.

I want to check out the far west section of the lake on my quad. Anyone know of any springs or dangerous spots down there?

Happy new year!!!

There are several springs along the lake. This map shows the springs inflows around the lake. Some are quite active springs.

Use caution on this lake.

Because of the landscape around that lake, run off in the spring is crazy.
The water decays that ice way faster than you realize.

While you might drive on in the morning, by the time 4:30 pm rolls around, there is open water at shore and a small creek flowing down the hills all around.

Stay away from shore when you are driving on it this time of year.

We were at a minimum 100 meters away from shore at all times.

Interesting topography anyway...

I read a magazine (might have been AO)
There was an article about a billy that had wandered onto one of the hillsides.
It had worked its way from the mountains, to battle.
I might have to look for that article again.

Another article I read was about tagged walleye in the battle River system.
A walleye was found 300 km (iirc) from where it had been tagged.

Interesting little tid bits.

The far West has the most dominant spring I'm aware of on the lake. Noticeable current all along the NW end particularly close to shore along the cliffs there. Water drops off quick here too
