Got out to Lac Ste Anne this morning at West Cove. Didn't see another soul out there. My truck was reading -39C at 8:30 AM.

Ice was clear 12" with 4-6" of snow/slushy white ice on top.

I saw lots on the Marcum. They looked like pike / walleye to me. I was able to bring up 3 pike.

I called it a day when the entire inside of my shack was coated in frost from my heater. Hopefully we'll have better luck next weekend.

We got out too, to a lake near North Buck. Outside of Redwater the outside temp gauge on the Ram dropped from - 40 to ---, I guess it was somewhat colder than that. Reading on the lake at 08:30 was -35. It was super slow fishing.

I too was near there, 15 mins west of N.buck, The last 2 mornings my truck (Chev) was reading -31. Still cold all the same...

The perch were fair with only a few big ones, Lots of bait steelers. Should be better in the weeks to come.

I am off to buy a Buddy heater this week as the old '70's Coleman Kerosene just couldl'nt keep up.

At least you guys were out there. I was planning on fishing this weekend but quite honestly this fresh snow made me wary with my 2 wheel drive and when it's -20 or worse I just can't get my old bones in the mood. Hopefully next week will be a little better, plus it won't still be a full moon which I find slows the fishing down.

It was -30 when we hit Swan Lake this morning.

Not even a nibble. Other than Jack Frost that is.

Cheers

I'm in Devils Lake, North Dakota right now and earlier today our guide told us it hit -52 with the wind chill. I don't even feel like fishing tomorrow.

It was a chilly one. But I was able to fish without my coat on today. My little buddy heater works great. Best investment so far. :sHa_shakeshout:

If that's in Farenheit that's only -46 or something Celsius....easy breezy :)

Yup it was a cold one, clear skies made for some excellent northern lights this morning. Joussard shanty village was pretty much a ghost town but the fishing was alright.

It was cold, but nothing a mile walk on wabamun couldn't cure. I kept warm in my tent but almost froze packing up without gloves. Put handwarmers in my gloves for the long journey back to shore. Caught 7 pike, lost about 5, had a couple whites come within inches but not closer. Just when i gain a shred of confidence i get punished...lol. Got some cool vids though...will learn to share them sometime.

Was at slave lake and it was Between -32 and -35 all day. The flip over clam with the black cat kept my gloves off all afternoon. Jaw jacker made my day.

Jiffy pro4 is having issues. And not from the cold.....:(

Hit Wab on Saturday. Got the tent up and we were rewarded with 7 pike and about a dozen hits. Mr. Heater decided to get temperamental on me at one point. It was amazing how I went from fishing in just a sweater to almost packing up and going home after 10 min heater issues.

I also hoped to try my jaw jacker out but the hole iced over within 3 minutes outside the tent so there was no hope. Maybe next time.

The big positive was as always the old Eskimo fired up in one pull every time.

Was a cold one out on Lac La Biche this weekend, I think at one point with the blistering winds the temp was -45. Skidooing to spots in that was quite cold lol.
