wizard lake fishing report?

Wanted to get some fishing report from wizard lake.

Want to know which baits are better to use at that lake. I was thinking about buying a bag of forzen smelts from superstore to use as bait. Don't know if its a good or bad idea.

They should work. Just suspend the smelts horizontally.

Wizard should have some hammer handles willing. Did two weeks ago.

I was using minnows and catching hammer handle pike and some SMALL perch. The perch in that lake are either stunted or mostly harvested before maturity. Of the 30 or so I caught there were only 2 worth filleting but I put them back anyway. I just used a jig head and full minnow jigging a few inches off bottom in 15-20 fow.

I fished there for a winter I used a pickerel rig with smelts and caught a lot off pike not that big, biggest around 4 lbs but it was a lot of fun I always put different hooks on my rigs as the manufactured ones always seemed to get bent up on me......good luck:)
