Last summer had a fellow angler get a ticket for having around seventy perch I told him limit was ten but when fish and game came around he was pretty quick to no speaky English If your going to fish know the regs. Ignorance is no excuse we were shore fishing 50yds apart. It was pretty funny fish and game was trying to communicate while the angler was trying to put them back

Great that they got caught. Crappy that the fines were so low and the ban is so short. I'd like to see a 5 year minimum ban...and a mandatory home freezer check for anyone caught poaching at the lake.

Nonetheless great job by F&W. I bet they could pay someone's full time salary if they hired an extra officer and stationed him solely at Travers.

Nothing like a complete disregard for the law keeping that many Walters, fishing past dusk on a 0 limit lake that is very frequently patrolled by fish and game. Good for the officer who nailed these winners....idiots!!!

These fines are a joke ..... poachers prohibited from fishing? that is unlikely to stop them. lol. A small fine? ....... nope.

$5000 per fish is more like it in my opinion. If they can't come up with the cash .... let them sit in jail a month per fish .....

I have been fishing this lake for over 30 years and have been checked by F&W 4 times and by our local man twice in 2013-14 and the first time was on the ice in the dark, so if anyone thinks the cover of darkness will hide their maybe not so legal activities might be in for a suprise:mad0100: This young man is the best thing that has happened around here for a long time. We do not need new citizens that do not respect our country, our laws or our resources.
Deport immediately!
If they were born here lets give them some real deterrents like jail time and serious fines!

Green, blue or pink don't matter to me, law broken and law handed down punishment...stiffer fines might help cure the honest guy but a poacher don't care but it was a good catch in the end.:)

really glad these losers were caught but also agree the fines and suspensions should be 3-4 times higher.
Fisheries are always whining there's no funds, why not fine the hell outta those who deserve it and have all the money go back into fisheries?!?!??!
