Went out today. Lots of people on the ice. Water is super murky. Could only see my lure for a 6inches. Caught a few pike. Overall it's nice and close and has fish in it. I don't think I would eat the fish though. They are very white. Not great color to them.

You left before the bite, used to be right around 4 to 5:30......

Hmm I'm just up the road from here. Only fished it once in the summer a couple years ago without success.
I might hit it this week for some cheap thrills.
Thanks for the report.

I only live a few miles from here, never bothered fishing it. But I'm thinking of giving it a shot one evening this week

Its getting to be a bit tricky to drive on. Lots of people park on the side of the road and walk to the second lake. If you have a truck its not to bad to get on. Its a good lake if you just want to kill time. I will be sticking to Crawling valley myself. I like to eat my catch and i dont think i will eat anything out of this lake.

We would have stayed later but some *******' came onto the lake with their quads and were doing doughnuts and screaming across the lake. Once that happened the lake went silent. Inconsiderate douche bags.

I hate to break it to you, but the lake it open to everyone for all types of activities. If they werent getting too close to you or "buzzing" your fishing spot, suck it up. It ****es me off too when people get too close, but everyone is out there enjoy different activities and that's their right. It ****es me off when people park within 100 ft of me and start drilling holes on a lake that is km's long or wide.....but you cant teach manners these days it seems.

If you want to see some inconsiderate douche bags, go to ghost on a weekend....especially in the evenings.

I understand that its not my lake and anything go's. Seems like a very novice lake as everyone was drilling holes within 20 feet of us. Then the said Douche bags showed up and nearly slid into our tent with their quads. i have heard some stories about ghost thats why i have not been there.

I hate to break it to you Chris, but a 100' is nothing to cry about. The lake maybe KMs long but the spot you've chosen is very often a spot other people had in mind. I fish specific spots and if someone is 100' away from it I don't feel bad by setting up there. That said 100' would be my preferred minimum distance.
Go to Pigeon on a long weekend and you can walk to shore by stepping into boats next to you, no joke. Once had a guy 3 feet beside me that I had to remind him the slightest wind would clash us together.
Now 20' away is a bit too close but I don't imagine there's a lot of spots on those 'lakes'. It's important to remember people just want to catch fish too, and it's almost never a show of disrespect or "bad manners". Sometimes it is, and sometimes some jerk won't change lanes so you can merge.
Anyways I stopped by there the other day and I'm not sure how people are getting into the lake. I didn't see tracks off the 262 where I see people park in the summer. Maybe there is access from the Range Road just west of the lake? Or are people using the private driveway?

Went out and gave Bruce another try yesterday. We landed 6 Pike. Slow start but then a good tip from a fellow fisherman on the lake and the day got much better. Thanks silver tundra guy. The 6 we caught were all over 63 cm.

Went out yesterday, 2nd lake. Caught one 25 inch Pike. Not sure if that's a good size for out there or not.

It's about 27 inch's of ice. I took a pretty picture ;)

I would like to give Bruce a try, just don't know how to get there from Calgary. Likely could find out on Google but mainly worried about access to drive onto the lake without ****ing some land owners off. I guess there are 3 lakes and the middle one is the one with fish? A guy can drive right on the lake?
Any clarification would be appreciated!

It's actually quite simple.
Head east on the 566(first exit north of cross iron mills)
You'll hit the stop sign at Highway 9, just keep heading straight (East)
at this point its called township road 262. the last Range road you will pass on your right is Range road 263, the road turns slightly and you will pass a big beautiful house on the right, blue if i remember right. YOUR there.

look good for a turn off onto the ice after passing this house, since the first lake wraps around the property. follow the well used ice trail over the first berm and your at the second lake, good fishing there, just stay far enough away from your neighbor.

One elderly gentleman landowner walks around sometimes and says hi, a friendly fellow. his only concern is clean up your garbage.

Here is a very accurate map
