Hey all, I have a good friend that has been told that this is a decent lake for a few smaller perch. He was asking me how it is but I've never been other than boating along time ago as a kid so I thought I'd ask you guys and girls if it will be worth his while to go try it for some smaller perch. He lives out by Ukrainian village so just trying to find a lake close by that will have a little action to make for a fun day. Thanks in advance and have fun out fishing this weekend y'all[emoji6]

on this fourm if the fishing is good no one will tell you and if its poor well they might I to have the questions as you I have just have not made the time to take the short drive out to check and see the lay of the land but gas is low and its a short drive so just head and enjoy the day better than sitting at home Good luck and if the fishing is good keep your lips tight or your hot spot will be raped and pillaged

Unlikly you would catch anything there. Not much for lakes in that area either.

I agree with kim about half moon. Given your location may I suggest Veg. trout pond (lots of perch there) or black nugget to the south or lamont trout pond to the north (trout fishing). There are some big ones at lamont.

I live on half moon lake. 10 min east of sherwood park. (There's several lakes in Alberta named half moon). They stalked it about 8-10 years ago. I haven't heard of a fish coming out for at least 6 years.

Thanks a lot everyone for the replies. I as well feel the same and have never bothered to even try it yet as I've heard there are fish but not the best lake to go for numbers even. I told him to try Dodds coal mine(black nugget) and veg trout pond as well. Anyway well see where he wen tomorrow and I'll update tomorrow whether he had a good day or just a relaxing nature walk. Thanks again
