First of all what a buck.
Here is my guess from the pics.
42 inches of tine per side
27 inch beam per side
20 inches for the 4 mass measurements per side 5.25 avg each
2 inch brows per side
26 inch spread divided by 2 = 13
total 104 inches per side which equals 208 gross.
wow, wow, wow.

12-15-2008, 05:32 PM
Wow that is definaetly an amazing buck. I think he would score about 195 or so.

Yah that animal is unbelievable,, I would have to put him in the 200's for sure.. If he was more even I would guess him at pushing the world record but by the looks of it he wouldn't net that kind of bone. But an unbelievable specimen for sure.

Give us a light at the end of the tunnel....is this an Alberta wt?
The Bit Runner.
12-15-2008, 05:56 PM
Ok If we give him a 20" mass/side thats 40"
If we give him 27" main beams per side thats 54,
Now lets give him 25" inside spread.
Ok so far we got 119"
His Left Beam
BT; 5
G1; 8 4/8
G2;12
G3;11
G3;8 4/8
G5; 6 4/8
G6;4.5
TOTAL SCORE OF LEFT BEAM TINE LENGTH ONLY =55 4/8
His Right Beam
BT;5
G1;9
G2;11
G3;9
G4;7
G5;3
G6;4 4/8
TOTAL SCORE OF RIGHT BEAM TINE LENGTH ONLY=44 4/8
FINAL GROSS SCORE=218 CHANGE.
DO YOU FELLAS THINK THATS A PRETTY REASONABLE SCORE OR
AM I TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW?

yeah thats the first thing i noticed too. a buck that big should have a neck like a rain barrell. are you allowed to feed or food plot deer like that in alberta? just curious. dont really care one way or another.

Wow, definitely look for the sheds on this one. I would agree with Risky's scoring on this one. Gross 200 to 210. Net 185 to 195. He must have a decent IQ as well for staying hidden during rifle season.

OK, I guess I gotta be the one that asks....how much for the GPS coordinates?
That there is a BIG deer!! I'm not even gonna guess what he scores, but if your buddy gets him next year, I'll buy the drinks as long as he brings along the antlers so I can get a look at them.
By the way, if I was your buddy, I'd be trying to keep tabs on that buck until he drops his antlers. Thats the kinda deer that makes people do bad, bad things!!

a runt like that would go 140-150 tops. obviously poor genetics in the area, a hacksaw could probably remove most of those unusual points and file them off smooth!

UNBELIEVABLE BUCK no matter which way the pie gets sliced I would think it would gross in the upper 220 range and net in the high 200 .......................... the right beam seems to have a dual point which probably would be a deduction but no matter a world class whitetail nevertheless ...................... GOOD LUCK ................... here is one that I took a few years back grossing 185 as a non typical and that big boy seems to be quite a bit bigger okay a lot bigger

I can tell you for a 100% positively that there is nothing wrong with the deers neck or the picture.Other than its a freaking MONSTER.You are not allowed to bait in alberta.I put out 2 bails of hay with my cameras in hand after the season every year,I pick up all the nice sheds and get some nice pics.Last year we got a set that score 196 and only giving it a 20' spread its a 6 by 5.:tongue2:

Looking at your comment it is obvious that you aren't very experienced with photoshop. Feel free to demonstrate evidence of manipulation (there usually is) that is more substantial that "it doesn't look right". You are probably right to be suspicious but that doesn't mean that everything is a fake.
That is a heck of a deer that most on this board would dream of having a crack at. Congratson even having a photo of him.

Around 220" gross. He has a lot of B&C deductions (probably 25"). He'll net 195"ish. Fantastic deer, not many in that caliber. Nice place to hunt I'd guess. I just hope your buddy doesn't shoot over the corn in the picture.....

Easy Bit...I'm skepticle of everything that I see or hear on big deer, as with most people. And this is the net after all. How many times have you heard "looked like an elk...or 200" deer in my back yard" Some are true no doubt...
But having said that I know your a serious WT dude and I respect your word...I love seeing a world class wt anytime so to answer your o/p...50-51" of G's, 28 beam, 20 H's real close to 100" and 2' spread...222-225 gross
It's a whopper typicle...with areally long neck:D..chain
ps I took the pic into photoshop and shortened his neck and added one inch to the tines and neutalized the harsh light but with such a small file it's tough.

Hey thats pretty good Chain,I can see what you mean how easy it is to make
things look bigger or better than they really are.I am the same as you and many others on this site,I guess its possible that any pic we see could be messed around with.I got this from a pretty good source but you just never know do you.
Im just different i guess even if i think somethings not right or looks out of place i would never say anything negitive about the tread just because unless
you seen it with your own eyes you realy dont know. That said Chain i agree with you and the others that have comented on the size of the neck and the length of his neck.It looks long for sure and you would think it would be bigger in the rut in all,but its all the negitive stuff about threads that just get to me.Really if you have nothing good to say dont say nothing at all is my idea anyways.Anyways no harm intended Chain.

Sorry if I offended you Runner, it was certainly not my intent. I myself have fell for the "possible new world record elk" pic, and so on....in fact, a pic of an impossibly big Moose was sent to me yesterday before I opened your thread.
Nowadays it's pretty easy to fool even the most experienced eye, so since the internet surfaced I've become pretty leery. With that said, I have no doubt there are deer that big in central Alberta, in fact, I was raised there and there's a couple on my dad's wall very close to the deer in the pic. Hope you put one on the ground next year that makes us all drool, you certainly live in the right area.

You better believe its the same deer and proof positive that it is.
BITRUNNER YOU ARE SO FULL OF POOP YOUR EYE'S ARE BROWN!!
This deer was played all over the net about 3 or 4 years ago and he's about as far away from Alberta as it gets.
Search around some other talk forums guys, do some leg work and you'll find this deer on several old threads and they originate either from West Virginia or Kentucky. And if I remember right, it might even be a game farm.
Bitrunner, maybe you are trying to be honest, that means your friend has pulled a fast one on you and you fell for it hook line and sinker.
The proof is out there, go find it. Then you will see that THIS IS ALL BS!!!

I thought so too,but again this is what a close friend told me they scored.
Actually Chain knows the guy who scored that rack very well.He has a deer farm and scores more deer in a year than we score in a lifetime.Mabey you could phone the hunter and ask him your self. His name is Lorne Mclauflin from ponoka alberta.Im sure it grossed 197.You could phone the guy who scored it as well.I dont have the score sheet.Oh wait, why dont you phone the taxidermist who mounted it and had it at the sportsman show last year. His name is tyler pletz from rimbey alberta. Is that enough info for ya.Someone will
know for sure.

Just saw the thread; as for Bit's 197 comparison, it is very, very real. Lorne McClaflin is a very good friend of mine, and that 197 inch wt is just a little too real, hanging in his stairwell. The most impressive deer I've ever seen. Besides that, my 2008 buck is at Tyler's taxi shop right now- Lorne's buck was some of Tyler's first work, and it is a thing of beauty.
