Pigeon ice thickness and access

Thinkin about hitting pigeon this weekend. Any body tell me what the ice is like?? Thickness? Snow cover? Was thinking about just off the provincial campground.. Any body tried to get to the rock island yet? Thanks in advance...

16-20" of ice over most of the lake. Access to the island is drifted in pretty bad, hard crust on it to. Natives had nets all around the island last week from 8 to 20 feet of water.

Generally a few inches with some higher drifts, that was before it rained however.
