Fished Lake Q yesterday.. and caught a mess of perch. It took a bit of work hole hopping with the Vexilar FLX8.. and the bite had a very small window in the morning... and one just before dark...but was one shy if a limit. Largest was 12.5 inches.... smallest 8.5 inches

Missed alot of hook sets and they were stealing bait. The bigger ones seemed smart.

The stepson managed his ever yellow perch. Then caught another one. Then tried tonhard i think the rest of the day. But nailed a few pike.

Me...
-14 perch
-3 walleye
-3 pike

Stepson...

-2 perch
-3 pike

Good mess of perch! Just curious, are there any advantages of a flasher over a camera? Was thinking in deep water a camera might not work so well where a flasher would work well no matter water clarity and light penetration?? Sorry for the slight derail. Just wondering where a camera is preferred and where a flasher shines....

I didnt even use the camera last three trips. This Vexilar FLX28 blows my old Humminbird Ice55 out of the water.

Im debating selling my marcum Camera and mopod and buying another Vexilar for the stepson to use

Imho Flashers make ice fishermen more efficient than Cameras.

Nice mess of Perch there ABB. good job. I agree on the flasher stuff. I have the ice 45 and won't leave home without it. What is the diff between the FLX28 that you prefer that over the ice 55 ?

We have to meet up someplace and see about a hot choc for first and most perch kind of bet. PM me where your pref lake to meet up sometime. My base camp is Edmonton. Supposed to be nice this week.

Low power option for shallow water, weed mode, 5 color option just for starters ;)

I dont have prefered lakes.. its always pulling teeth when trying to decide where to go next day!!! I would like to scout perch lakes around Lac la biche soon!

Maybe you can show me that perch point at N.Buck, would like to pull a white from there. Have seen them on the cam but never had them come to the hook. Would like to hit that lake again this year. Or maybe if you know where the Perch are on LacLaBiche, never caught any there.

Gotta love the Perch bite. That help your young guy in his fishing career. Sure teaches the need for sharp hooks and hookset
