It's a dead lake then? My father in law was catching some decent ones in the summer. I wish people would just catch and release. Who wants to eat those things anyways. Nice to catch but horrible to eat.

im heading out there tomorrow. i read in some other forums that people are catching at the north end of the lake. the one guy mentioned he caught an 81cm and 3 smaller ones last weekend.

i agree with you on keeping those big snakes. not good for eating if they are over 100cm. throw them back and let them get to 150cm. nice trophy fishing in southern alberta is a rare thing.

Was out there yesterday and caught 5 over the day! They were all around 60cm and got one at 78cm! Was fishing in the bay at the east side and the ice was around 16 inches with lots of surface water due to the melt. Fish became most active around 4pm. Good luck and tight lines for the weekend. :)

How much water we talking about? I'm heading there tomorrow and want to make sure I have proper foot ware! Thanks for the update.

Probably safe to say you'll need some insulated rubbers. I'm headed out tomorrow as well and I think we will be at that north end. Might move around though depending on how things are going.

Yes you will need rubber boots of some kind as by the end of the day there was about am inch of water in places and very slippery underfoot.

Unfortunately they don't catch and release. That's why you don't talk about these things on the internet.

Went there today and didn't have any luck anyways. Had a few bites but got skunked in the end. Too bad because it was a nice day for icing a few. :happy0034:
