ice fishing with Kids

Hi all. I have my kids this weekend and am looking for somewhere near cowtown to take them ice fishing. Any ideas that are close? They are still pretty young and do not stay out for a long time... and I do not want to drive for more hours then we are able to fish for.

You could try for Chestermere pike, maybe perch. I havent fished it for a long time, but have seen reports of them biting. I remember seeing the s. end mentioned.

I say emerson pond in high river u could have a chance there buddy iced 5 rainbows and 3 suckers all C&R
