Just heard a lady call into a radio station saying she saw two wolves near the henday in between rabbit hill road and 127st. She said either there wolves or big foxes that tells me how knowledgeable she was just wondering if anyone saw these on there drive also and confirm what she was looking at? Pretty brave for a wolf to be that out in the open that close to he road way.

Probably wolves or large foxes by the description. No way it was coyotes though.:sHa_sarcasticlol:

A guy called in later saying he saw what she saw - except that they were coyotes. Then the conversation seemed to turn to the pronunciation of the word coyote. As in is it 'coyote' or 'coyotee?'

(It's coyote...)

X2 i live near rabbit hill rd and saw two of the biggest yotes ever on a walk with the hounds the other night. one was nearly the size of a german shepherd but definitely a coyote or mostly yote

I was at a police station once standing in line. The guy in front of me was reporting an accident (must have been for insurance) he told the cop that he hit a "wolf" on deerfoot just north of country hills.

About 2 years ago I was going sort of north on the Henday, on the west side of Edmonton...and I saw a wolf running parallel to the highway. Not sure where rabbit hill is but it was a wolf.

See plenty of coyotes around the city, and I've seen a few wolves and moose in my time on the northside of the city right by St. Albert. It's been a couple years since I've seen a wolf there though.

Few hours ago girlfriend called to say she saw a pair of coyotes about 25 yards off the highway eating something.

Never laid eyes on a wolf around Edmonton, but there's lots of coyotes around. At least a half dozen living in Mill Creek ravine, can hear them yipping and howling every night. Seen a couple of them in the back yard of the condo at night.

There was a blood trail out back a couple of days ago - where I take the dog for a pee most nights, must have got a rabbit or something.

A couple months ago I seen a wolf just by city ford. At first glance I though it was a huge coyote so I turned around and sure as chit it was a wolf.

Do we have Coywolves here yet? I know they are in the East, but don't know how far west that cross breed thing is happening.

I live in Wolf Willow (no I'm serious lol) which is sorta near Henday and Whitemud creek.

I walk my dogs down the river valley quite often in the spring thru the fall.

A few years ago I definitely seen some wolves in there. I can assure you they were not coyotes. One was black. It was a few hundred yards, but we were coming back up the hill going back home and we could look down and see them in a clearing literally 30 yards away from where we passed a few minutes previously.

I had to take a closer look and couldn't believe my eyes ..... but yes ... they were wolves 100%.

There are lot's of coyotes and deer in the valley that goes from my place out to where Henday crosses the creek and ravine. That's to be expected. I did not expect to see wolves ..... but they are definitely there sometimes.
