Looking at buying a Legend 16.5' fishing boat. Comes with a 60hp 4stroke Merc Bigfoot. Looking for any reviews about this particular engine. Maintenance, problems, reliability, etc? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have the 60hp but i do have a legend 169 with a 75hp Mercury 4stroke. I have only had it two summers and haven't had any issues. Turn key and go. I get between 32-34 mph on Gps with the wife and three kids(under 10yrs) and with a 17p prop and between 36-38with myself and 1 kid.

I had that motor , 60 hp , I had a big foot except no prop , I had a jet on the bottom ,
The motor ran great , 4 years and not a trouble , and I was on the rivers lots with it , one year I had about 200 days running it , when not guiding out of it , I was over into BC using it

Change the oil twice a year I did , plugs every year , they come with a 3 year warranty I think ,

Shop shop around , you can find some great deal on a new one , I got mine down in the US , paid almost $5000 , then paid $475 to have it fed x to the boat I had built ,
The dollar has gone to the ****s the last couple months , so it might not be as good for you now
