I found this to be an interesting article about Alberta F&W officers.
120 field officer positions, 12 special investigation positions and 11 other officer positions (superintendents, chief and support officers)
11 officers were hired in 2014.
The article states that there are 10 vacant positions, with a competition to fill them this winter.
I know that this competition has been cancelled because of a hiring freeze implemented by the government due to falling oil prices. (what the applicants were told.)
And again, our resources are in jeopardy due to POLITICS!!!
I think it is sad that our resources will probably suffer because there are just not enough bodies to patrol our lakes and forests.
