VANCOUVER FISHING REPORT:

The 'Winter Chinook' fishing has been great all of January and so far in Feb here in Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Many are saying this has been the best start to the fishery in 20 years. We have been catching lots of big, healthy chinook as of late.
Our last trip out we hooked 5 chinook in a short 6 hour charter. We lost the biggest fish of the day to an opportunistic seal, but once we stopped crying we quickly hooked into 4 more chinook. We released one undersized and put 3 beauties in the cooler. An 8 lb, 11 lb and 13 lb.
We have been having most of our luck with glow spoons in 2.5" and 3" as well as glow hootchies with a variety of flasher combos. The key is keeping your gear as close to the bottom as possible.
The Vancouver harbour has been good on some days but the Gulf Islands have been the hot spot.

Crabbing and prawning has been great.
