Hey everyone, so I've been to wab this weekend and last and can't seem to find any walleye. Pike after pike after pike. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I assume you were fishing near the townsite in the first bay?

If so, that's about the only place I haven't caught a walleye on the lake. It seems a little shallow and a little too weedy in general (with not much structure).

I'm sure they are in there too, but likely toward the bridge (which is where the ice gets thin unfortunately).

PM me if you like .... I can put you on walleye if that's what you are after.

Our group got about a half dozen or so small walleye west of the townsite just outside of the bay. Not really worth targeting IMO, nothing was bigger than 2lbs.
On a side note I caught my pb pike today :D, 10lb, 12oz

Yeah that was us you saw, I recognize your truck, well now you know where to go lol, although I'm sure EZM will give you a better spot than there lol, we only got 6 in 9 hours of fishing with 5 lines in the water.

That side of the lake doesn't hold as many walleye it seems. I know some guys have caught some, but certainly not as many as other areas. They are there, but the deeper waters and structure holds more fish further down the lake.

What depth have you guys been having luck for walleye at. I've had good luck with Pike around 8-10ft but haven't even seen a walleye at that depth.

Also has anyone even seen any whitefish around? I've seen zero at Wabamun this year.

Thanks

at fallis we were finding walleye at every depth 4 ft to like 15 ft it seems crazy how many we were catching and seeing i had my camera down and at one point had 3 walleye on screen none any bigger than a pound maybe smaller ...and yeah we saw a few whitefish too but they seemed like they were in a hurry to be somewhere cuz they just zoomed by

I'd agree .... the overwhelming majority are under 12" ..... I have caught a few bigger ones but very few and far between.

We catch them in 10-18 feet of water on the deep side of the drop offs.

They outnumbered pike on our last 2 outings at Wab ...... they seem to have overrun the west side of the lake.
