Just had a buddy send me this pic! Apparently caught in buffalo lake south if Boyle? What the hell is it?

There was just a multi-page thread on this same photo. It is a fake, not from Alberta
"buffalo lake thing" I think it was called

I'd definitely say salamander. Never seen one that big, but I have seen them at 9 or 10 inches.
