Sometimes out checking my snares I get these "outside of the box" type of ideas. You know, things like using my otter sled as a boat to check my muskrat float sets. Today was such a day and a thought came to me. I've been reading on here that sometimes the bars of a body catch traps will mark or damage a pelt. It's not an issue for me but what if a guy coated the bars with this stuff?

Wonder if this would aid in ripping fur out if hit with a coni or not? If it works let me know and I will start trying it on my marten 120's

My grandpa used to split a plastic straw and slip it over his body grip jaws to prevent or reduce pelt damage. :)

Interesting idea. Couple of things come to mind.
Thick surgical tubing split. Thin rubber hose split. That foamy tubing they use to insulate water pipes, it's already split but I don't know if there is any in that small diameter.

Split fuel hose then melted back together on the bar would work well I think.
