Great laker... wish I hooked one like that when I was there. They do exist but where they hide only you seem to know.

I released him for someone else to catch. He was 18 lbs when I weighted him

Just the scenery alone would make it worth going there...but catching a lunker like that helps too :-)

nice one , good on you for releasing it . Smaller ones probably better eating anyways . Could be the fish of a lifetime out of there

18 pounds? its weird that a 14 pounder looks bigger, i dunno about you but if i caught an 18 pound fish i wouldn't be throwing it back for someone else....just sayin

The golden rule is to release the bigger fish peter. whats the point of keeping the big breeders? They don't taste as good as the little tykes

to be fair It is the best tasting fish ive ever had, i was worried it wouldnt be good as people say the bigger they are the grosser they are, maybe we got lucky with this one

Don't judge a fish by a picture. This one I'm holding is approx 12-14 lbs based of measurements. It's all about angle and distance.

Well done, we need to understand it not about just the freezer. If it were, we would not go...we spend a lot of cash to fish/hunt, if we figured it by cost per pound it would be very high. It is good to see you, and many AO folks, understand the earth is not ours...we just rent it from our kids.
