Just trying to estimate how much bigger our dog is gonna get. Our pup is 5 months old and has approx trippled in size since we got him. At what age can we expect him to stop growing in hieght and length ? I'm thinking about one year, would this be correct ? Thinking that most of his growing is done and now its just a minnimal amount. Say about 10% more or so. He is a Bichon / Dashund cross.

A little after one year he should be near full size. Some dogs will grow up to or beyond 2 years, it's very dependant on breed.

If its a large breed, it will take 2 years before he/she reaches full frame size.

Another 2 years (4 years old) before they fill out.

This is a small frame size dog. Mother was 2 ft tall, father was about 1 foot tall. When should I expect the growing to stop as far as height? Dog is 5 months old and about 1 ft now.

His height is pretty much there already for a small dog

Im thinking your are correct in thinking height and length at a year. and can take up to 3 yrs to fill out and mature meaning not just size

Height and length should be done at 9 or so months. The pup will Continue to fill out for up to a year after.

If the mother was 2 feet tall, then there's more in your pup than bichon/dacsie. Bichons generally only grow to a foot at the shoulder.
