You can rent/demo them from Aquabatics and Undercurrents. Try as many as you can and you'll know when you have found the one for you.

you can get them from about $500 to $2k+.
I've got a cheapish 12' Ascend sit on top that I love, nice and wide and stable, got it from Bass Pro. Hobie is a pretty high end brand, but there are a lot of options to pick from.
Lots of info here and on other internet resources, it's a great way to fish.

If I was buying again I'd buy a Hobie with the foot paddle drive. Makes a lot more sense for fishing since it's hard to fish with a paddle in your hand. 12 foot would be good.

I have a Jackson Big Tuna , love it. I would love to try a hobbe at some point.
When compared with a canoe you will get wet, but I find them easier to fish out of generally.
