Steamed Swiss Chard or Boiled Beets soaked in vinegar with a little butter is fantastic. I'll have to try some Smoksters with vinegar, neat idea.

Raisin toast for breakfast. I had to make raisin bread on the weekend.

The last couple days I have been having an evening craving, I just don't know for what. I hate it when that happens. I stand there in front of the pantry going, "Nope, not that. Not that either. Maybe, nope." Most frustrating.

Deep fried chicken hearts and gizzards.

About 30 years ago we were camping close to the dunes in Florence Oregon.
Six of us hit a little bar and after many beers and getting hungry ask if they have chicken wings.
Well the chef comes out and just loses it on us.
Goes into this tirade against chicken wings-looks me in the eye and says
"Even a cancerous chicken has wings"
We all start laughing but he is pizzed.
We look up on the menu board behind him and there was his happy hour special.

"Gizzard Natchos":sHa_shakeshout:

Not as good as they sound:budo:

When I was out in Thunder Bay this past Summer my buddy whos from there introduced me to 'Pickeral Strips' served at the corner pub next to his moms house (Its walleye guys but yes even easterners call it pickerel). I was in my glory and ate 2 plates every day for a week,

Battered and salted walleye strips literally an inch and a half thick served with like a lemon dill cream dipping sauce. You would get about 10 strips per plate for $11.00. It was easily the best bar Ive ever been to solely because of their bar menu. And keiths was $2.75 per bottle. And the bar was called Cheers
