Is there anything else in Chain lakes besides those stocked trout?

Other than the stocked rainbow and bull trout there are suckers and that is it. I frequent chain lakes because the action is always pretty decent no matter the season.

Which Chain Lakes are you asking about? If you are asking about the ones near Athabasca, the first one has trout only, the second one has pike/perch, and the third one has muskrats and beavers.

I'm told there's mountain whitefish in the southern one as well.

Didn't they put some bull trout in Chain Lake (south) a couple of years ago?

My guess is if there are bull trout in the lake they wouldn't allow bait to be used, unless this lake is the exception in Alberta which I highly doubt. Last time I checked you could use bait, but I haven't read the regs for Chain this year.

And to answer the original poster, I've caught numerous suckers many years ago but haven't in the last few years...don't know why. LOL

Cheers

there are rainbows and bulls in chain lakes south. they put the bulls in there 4 years ago to start eliminating the amount of suckers in the lake . And i think that there might be whites in the lake aswell . Never caught one in 8 years of fishin the lake ..
