A good 18 inches so it will be a while yet. It is only March 8 :)

Was at Twin on Saturday and everywhere was at least 13" with just a little standing water near shore. This upcoming week will surely change that though.

We were out down south today and you can see the ice changing fast. starting to change from clear to white and working it's way down.
Don't forget that it breaks up from the edges first. Rocks and bridges and soild warm up and melt things pretty fast. You may get on ok but if it melts on the edge you may end up on a flaoting ice berg. Found that out the hard way years ago and had to wade out the last 10 yards to get back on shore.

Be safe.

Once temperatures don't hit freezing over night things get sketchy real fast, the ice goes from white to black and this is bad, water has melted through to the bottom and now is honeycombed, might still be 20" thick but will not hold 100lbs. When the ice turns black this time of year with these temps stay the hell off unless you are wearing a wetsuit.
