Heard reports of massive floodwater/large heave. Couldnt pinpoint where on lake. We have a trip planned in 10 days. How is the floodwater at Joussard? Where on the lake is this heave? Where is th floodwater?
Thanks in advance!

With this weather, ice will be sketchy in 10 days. Long range forcast for Edmonton, Saturday = +17 at the moment. Snow was melting very fast at Utikuma on Friday and water starting on the ice in the late afternoon. Hope it cools down up there for your trip.

talked to some guys that were at Joussard this weekend, said the heave is near the shore right in front of the boat launch. impassable with a truck.

My Dad talked me into going out to Slave early yesterday. No problems getting on at Widewater and Canyon Creek but there was lots of melt water and floodwater on ice. A bit rough going but passable and many of the shacks
( we saw two go off yesterday) have been pulled. Fishing was pretty good in 25 -30ft. for burbs and walleye. Best bite early in the morning and late in the day. I was surprised we didn't catch a single pike.

It rained pretty hard in the morning off and on to add to the melt water. About two feet of ice. Some good sized heaves ( some 6' high) just off the south shore in the Canyon Creek area and then approximately 1/2 a mile off shore.
Don't know about Shaw's.

She'll be pretty squishy by the weekend if it stays this warm.
