It's alive!!!!!!!!!!

They were biting fast and furious today at Wabamun. Got a text saying work cancelled so I went out for one last ice fish of the season and it was my best ice fishing day of the season!! Got on the ice at 12 noon, Landed 16 fish in total (14 pike, 2 burbot), missed at least 20 hits too. I went through 14 herring today, the last 6 I cut in half because I was burning through them too fast. :)

13lb 4 oz Burbot was the highlight of the day!!! 36" long and over 6" wide across the back. Took me 3 tries to get him up through my 8" hole, there was maybe half an inch of room on either side of him. Not the greatest pics but I was alone and trying to get these guys to lay out flat is impossible.

Thanks guys! I have a feeling that burb is going to be a tough one to beat. I did a bit of a happy dance after getting it back down the hole, that's for sure!
