Went to both lakes yesterday for an end of season fish. At Pigeon, fished by the PP. We walked on by the concessions parking lot. The ice was in good shape, only a couple of inches of snow and no water on top and about 2.5 feet thick. Fishing was slow, fished in 6-18 feet and nothing. Moved to Wizard by about mid afternoon, fishing was better. Pretty much the same ice conditions, near the end of day after the sun had been out for a couple of hours, there was a little slush starting to develop, but nothing serious. Love ice fishing this time of year, your line, hands, bait don't freeze and you can leave the heavy jacket home.
