Badger in Dec

Is it common to see a badger out in December ? Have one in the field behind the barn and he is coming up right into the yard in the mornings .Just thought it was rare to see one out in Dec ,but maybe not.

Its not rare....they come out periodically to dig a few holes and generally root around. It seems to be weather/temp related.
