Perch roe for bait

I kept a bunch of perch roe (eggs) and was wondering if anyone has tried using them for bait?

Never used it for bait, but ate lots when I was younger.
We used to catch lots in Ontario in the spring.
We rolled the roe sack in cornmeal flour with some seasoning and fried them up.
very good. Course it must have been the Newfie heritage, cause we used to eat cod roe and cheeks as well. :D
