View Full Version : Ice off yet?

Just wondering if anyone knows if there's any open water around the Grande Prairie, Valleyview and Peace River areas. The rivers have broke loose, but I haven't heard of any of the lakes being open yet. Just wondering if the lakes are icing off or even getting close.
I need a fish fry! :lol:

I'll grab the ol lady and a coffee and head out there tomorrow for a look see. She's itching to know if the ice off too.

Can someone give me an update on wabamun. Crossing my fingers it's open next Saturday to take the boat out for a spin.

The ice on Sylvan looks grey/black today, with all this wind, it wont take long to see it go ...

Carson still has ice on it but the ice is not long for this world.

Went for a drive yesterday and Spring lake is still iced over, it is starting to melt along the shore and around the dock.

Moonshine lake is about 50% ice free as of this afternoon. Still iced up around the boat launch and day use areas, but it won't be for long looking at the forecast.

No one out at Sturgeon these days, eh? Might just have to pop out there and see for myself. Heard a rumour you can get a boat on it, just wanted to confirm.

I was up to Falher & Wembley today and back for work, I believe Sturgeon Lake was open(you can see it from the highway right?) and Lac St Anne was open.

Wabamun was 95% ice free on tuesday. Should be wide open now
