Looking for a new set up. Fish mostly pike and walleye, also early season lake trout. Thinking of a pflueger supreme on a fenwick hmg 6' or is that to short? I can't find a two piece larger. And feed back would be great!!

Fenwick makes a 6'6" 2-pc rod... Was looking at them in Wholesale Sports around Xmas.

Might not be the model you mentioned, but it was a nice med-action 2-pc rod...

Fenwick Eagle I think. Around $80.

I have a couple fenwick eagle GT's, they are decent, a little soft IMO but I also prefer a bit of a stiffer rod. I think their closer to $60. you should get two rods, a med heavy for pike and a med for walleye. 6'6 at least for a med heavy. Fewick Makes a MH 6'10" HMX I really like, use it for chucking big baits for pike and for pulling bottom bouncers for walleye.

I compare fishing rods to golf clubs, you'll want one for the different situation you find yourself in. I usually don't go out with less then 3

Go with a Clarus from Shimano. Very sensitive and the tips are much much
stronger than the Fenwicks. Cabelas North Edmonton had a whole bunch on sale for $60 . CHEERS . DAVID

X2 on Clarus I have the 7 ft 3/4 oz paired with a Shimano Saros 3000 with 30lb power pro
Works great for pike

I am not the biggest fan of shimano rods, I've broken to many to easily, I've been through 3 crucials.. I blew up the tip on one walking by and it poked me in the chest, snap. It was ridiculous how easy it blew. After the 2nd The Fishin hole quit giving me warranty. To each their own, they make good rods, my buddy has the 6' Clarus used for jigging heavier jigs in the athabasca and it is really nice, but my personal preference is with fenwick.

Check out TFO's spinning rods, the heavy - but fast action - chucks big hardware but then when fish on feels like a super sensitive trout rod, strong but fun. pricey but worth it.
