The annual trip to the Houston area to visit family just wrapped up. As nice as it is to see family, my son and I have turned it into a ditch fishing safari. For those not familiar with the municiple districts south of Houston, they have a network of drainage ditches to handle runoff. Many hold water year round and host an amazing variety of fish, over the years we have caught gar, carp, bass, tilapia, sunfish, cichlids, turtles and snakes.

Here are some pics from this year

Edit-PM to mods to move to fishing forum

Ha....well played!!!

I never would have seen this if you put it in the fishing section.

Reminds me to do my yearly scroll in there :happy0180:

The cichlids were quite the surprise, we caught 6 the one morning.

Pretty well any standing water down there holds fish

Would be nice, it is only an annual trip each spring.
