chain lakes

anybody been out to chain lakes lately? can you take a truck out on the ice?

I was out a couple of days after Christmas and there were no vehicles on the ice at all. For good reason that is. There was only maybe 6 inches of decent ice on the bottom. Above that was 6 inches of slush and snow. You dont need to drive on chain anyways to get to some nice holes. The holes I frequent are only a few feet from shore. I am headed out there tomorrow. Anyone want to tag along shoot me a pm tonight. I am in south calgary.

Was there today. Jan.3, Ice 13in. out from boat launch. Lots of people
driving on.:)
